Do you ever feel that you’d like to learn new skills and knowledge, but think you’re too old?

Most people wish they were able to learn something new, either to be able to relax or to change your job but feel they’re too old to be able to do this.

I hear many times people say I’m too old to learn, along with, you can’t teach old dog new tricks, I’m too old to change my job, or I’m not qualified to do anything else.

I believe that we are never too old to learn.  And that we can learn new skills and knowledge that will enhance our lives for the better. It’s about making a commitment to ourselves and finding something you would like to do.

I’ve learned a few skills and gained knowledge since I was 35.  Yes, I started making changes at 35 years old.

I’ve learned to play the saxophone, something I’d always wanted to do, but never felt I was musical enough to do it.

I learned to fly a plane and passed my private pilot’s license, even though I’m not overly keen on heights.

I got a 2 1 bachelor of laws, even though I thought I was not academic, going on to complete a Master of Law after having left school with only one O level.

I qualified as a mediator, which I used to start a mediation business to bring in an additional income.

I trained as a photographer and opened a studio with my wife.

These are a few things I’ve done to improve my knowledge and skills, starting new businesses over the last 15 years, but they’re not everything.

But this is not about me, I am not special, and everyone has the ability in their lives to do what they want to do and make changes.  This Is about you and what you are capable of if you put your mind to it.

Being able to accomplish anything, once you’ve decided to go for it and taking those first steps can be scary, but you’ll be amazed at how much it will change your lives and your family’s life for the better.

It’s about making small changes in your life and attitude that you are able to do anything you put your mind to.  These small habits soon become bigger as they compound up to big changes, allowing you to do whatever you want in life and accomplish some amazing things.

You’re not alone starting off old, some people started making changes in their life and succeeded.  And these are:

Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel Universe, was 40 when he got his break.

Alan Rickman and Samuel L. Jackson, both actors started their career at 41 and 46 respectively.

Ray Kroc spent his career as a milkshake device salesman before buying McDonald’s at the age of 52, which he grew into the world’s biggest fast food franchise

Harland Saunders, better known as Colonel Saunders was 62 when he franchised Kentucky fried chicken.

It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you decide to make that leap and it doesn’t matter how old you are, you can still make changes in your life, allowing for you to live an inspired life that you desire and deserve.
